Meet The Team
Hazel Wright (DipM): Project Director. Hazel has 20 years of business management experience in FTSE 100 companies. Previously worked as Marketing Manager for Sky TV and Head of Residential Marcoms for Cable & Wireless. Hazel set Graft up as a Charity and Company Limited by Guarantee and has been with the company since 2005. During this time she has managed growth from a project turning over £30,000 per year to Reading’s leading charity for supporting disadvantaged adults into employment and work related activities. Hazel is responsible for setting strategic direction of Graft, managing staff, business development and fundraising.
Maria Scott: Senior Beneficiary Officer. Maria has many years experience working with vulnerable young people and recently successfully delivered the Families Programme within Reading on behalf of Reading Borough Council. Maria Scott has 30 years experience of delivering front line support both as a qualified teacher and as a qualified trainer. Maria leads our client learning & training activities, working with other training providers to ensure all of our training is appropriate and accessible to our clients. Maria also oversees and supervises our client delivery activities.
Anna Chapman, Beneficiary Services Co-Ordinator. Anna is experienced in supporting disadvantaged and hard to reach clients to improve their employability and life chances. Previous experience with Department of Work & Pensions Prime Contractor (A4E). Qualified to teach adults and experienced in delivering soft skills training. Anna’s current role includes co-ordination of client support from other agencies (eg. housing, benefits, finance etc.). Anna is also Graft’s quality standards champion – ensuring that we continue to meet the high standards of our awarding body MATRIX.
Mike Hodges - Beneficiary Officer. Mike is an experienced support worker who leads our specialist programme for clients with severe and enduring mental ill health. Mike’s clients receive specialist support that links their employability support with their condition management programmes.
Mike liaises with psychiatrists, psychologists an community mental health teams to ensure his clients get a truly holistic support package that really helps them into work.
Kevin Jackson - Beneficiary Officer. Kevin is an experienced support worker and he leads our specialist activities for beneficiaries with learning disability and/or autism. Activities include a regular weekly job club, signposting to other support services to ensure social inclusion and community engagement. Kevin also provides advocacy support to beneficiaries along with family liaison and in-work support.
John Fisher - Accounts Support.
John has been providing financial advice and support to Graft since 2008. He is involved in defining our accounting policies and processes, in ensuring that good practice is implemented and evidenced and in making sure we meet all of our statutory obligations regarding our finances. John also leads in the production of our year end accounts.
Deana Shaw: – Support Services Co-ordinator.
Deana has worked for Graft on a number of different projects since 2012 and continues to support the delivery team and Hazel Wright, with admin suport and ad hoc projects.
